Kickboxing is an excellent way to build up one’s physical health. The movements used are simple and put little strain on the body. At the same time, they exercise power, self-control, flexibility, and stamina. Being a well-rounded exercise that uses both the upper body and the legs, it’s more thorough in its benefits that many other forms of exercise.

For many visual learners, the most effective way to get started with kickboxing is to rent or buy a DVD or tape. By being able to rewind and pause the lesson, you can learn at your own pace. Since the instructor can’t see you, there’s less self-consciousness and you can perform more naturally. But if you’re getting part of a series, make sure the entire series appeals to you, or you’d be better off buying a stand-alone product.

People on strict budgets who want to train themselves in kickboxing can try books instead of more expensive methods. Many instructional books are available in libraries for free. Even purchased books cost much less than many other methods of training. Look for a book that fits your level of experience if you choose this route. A book that is too advanced or insufficiently advanced for you will be a waste of your time.

Naturally, the most expensive but often most effective means of getting **kickboxing training** is to take classes in a school or gymnasium environment. This will result in a level of personal attention and distinct progression that can help you achieve your full kickboxing potential without too much stress or pressure. Try to find something as close to you as possible; a long drive or walk to and from classes will often result in you being too tired to appreciate the activity.

Prices for various means of learning kickboxing will vary greatly, depending on the medium and the instructor. You may also want to purchase specialized gear, such as **muay thai equipment**, to get optimal performance. This isn’t completely necessary, however, and many locations will offer gear rentals with memberships. You can spend not a dime, or you can spend hundreds of dollars… it all depends on what you feel you need and what your budget allows. Generally speaking, however, personal trainers and instructors will always be the most expensive route, while self-training aided by visual products will be the cheapest.

Bruce Lee is a well know martial artist and movie artist. He is a strong man who faces the challenges of life. He is seldom lazy and takes very little rest. He spends almost all of his time training and studying. In his personal library, there were thousands of books. He liked reading ancient wisdom, like Lao-tzu, Confucius and Sun Tzu.

Bruce Lee created the unique combating system of Jeet Kune Do, the way of the Intercepting Fist. However, during his short life, he did not manage to establish the whole and thorough system and principle. He did not left the world with his whole fighting concept. Only the persons who would lucky enough to learn personally from him have a glimpse of how powerful and deep the system he created was. In 1970, Lee had a major back injury. He was forced to stay at home. During this period, he spent time to organize his experiences and insights. Originally, he was planning to publish them in books. However, the plan was not fulfilled.

Lee began studying Wing Chun since thirteen years old. From that point, he spent his whole life studying and researching the real secret of martial art. Jeet Kune Do focuses on free style fighting. It opposes straight and inflexible forms. While studying Jeet Kune Do, it is advised that students should maintain an open mind without overly restrained by what was taught in different kind of martial arts, including Jeet Kune Do itself. Lee spend a lot of time understanding the commons and differences of different kind of fighting techniques and he tries to clarify the relationships and conclude a universal form.

By the popularity of his movies like the Fist of Fury and the Way of the Dragon, Bruce Lee was known by the world for his excellent combating skills and speed. Today, the world still sees him as one of the greatest martial artist ever born in human history. Some even spend substantial time and effort in study the little and scattered information left by him. But in fact, his influence to the world is philosophical and conceptual rather than real information about how to fight more powerfully.
